Four Japanese design ideas describe what SLP already does. They are a vocabulary for identity and philosophy.
Remove until only what is needed is left.
Empty space is part of the design, not a gap to fill.
Understated. Nothing is decorated for its own sake.
The interface stays silent while you study.
独学 (dokugaku) is the Japanese word for self-study.
It names exactly what the platform is for: one person, one topic, and the discipline to keep going. The agent teaches, quizzes and grades, but the learning stays yours.
A book, a certification, a tool's documentation, a course: everything you study is a topic, and SLP builds the full loop around it.

Keep empty space of at least ¼ of the mark's height on every side.

The brand is ink on paper: black and white, with the e-ink grey ramp in between. Hierarchy comes from lightness only. The brand never takes a hue.
// accent is #d4d4d4. state is always a glyph plus a grey (✓ ✕ NORMAL INSERT), so it reads without hue

Everything in the product and the brand: chrome, body, headings.
独学 · 簡素 · 間 · 渋い · 静寂
Only for kanji in brand material: section marks, the name gloss, a single character on a cover. Never for running text.
SLP talks like a good terminal: lowercase, short, exact. It says what happened and what to do next, then goes quiet.
- - lowercase labels, commands as nouns
- - one fact per line
- - no exclamation marks, no praise
- - glyph + word for state
